The Backdrop

The story centers on the historic and now legendary Sun recording studio of Memphis, Tennessee. A mere storefront building owned by Sam Phillips known simply as the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll," and produced some of the most important music and artist in American music history. Back on December 4, 1956 the four legends were brought together by Phillips (who discovered each of them), destiny or flat out divine music intervention for an impromptu recording session which has now credited as one of the greatest rock jam sessions in music history.

There are quite a few reasons that this time period and jam session became historically important.

At the time music was in its development and these four names were in their prime. There were no bigger music acts at the time then these four and each covering all the genres and styles. Each of these singer/songwriters were in their peak moments of freewheeling creativity, excitement and generating an infectious spirit to all who listened.
